Freight forwarder and international shipping agent

Auto Export Europe is based in Le Havre, France's leading container port and the natural starting point for shipping lines to the West African coast.

A freight forwarder, not a middleman

Auto Export Europe S.A.S.U is a freight forwarder and international maritime shipping agent. In practice, this means we don't just put a customer in touch with a shipping line: we organise the transport, coordinate it, and are accountable for how the file runs.

The customer deals with a single point of contact, from the moment the vehicle is picked up in Europe to its unloading at the destination African port.

Why Le Havre

Le Havre is France's leading container port and one of Northern Europe's main terminals. It's where the shipping services depart that regularly serve the African Atlantic coast, from Mauritania to South Africa.

Being based on site changes the nature of the work: receiving vehicles, coordinating with terminals and tracking departures happens directly, without a chain of intermediaries.

Vehicles and containers

The business covers two complementary flows: exporting vehicles — sedans, 4x4s, vans, oversized vehicles — and shipping full containers of goods to the same destinations.

These two flows are often combined: a vehicle loaded into a 40-foot container leaves room for personal effects, equipment or spare parts, allowing a shipment to be shared.

What we commit to telling you

Our RoRo rates are published, port by port and by vehicle category. We prefer to show a price list rather than systematically refer you to a quote: you know what to expect before you even write to us.

On the other hand, we do not publish a standard transit time. It depends on the shipping line, the port and the period, and quoting a single figure would be a convenient but false approximation. The lead time applicable to your shipment is communicated with the quote.
